Questions to help with deciding on a site:

I never owned a web site before, where do I start?
To start, you first need a domain name (i.e. www.something.com,.org,.net,...etc), which can be obtained at any domain registration sites. One point that needs to be made, just because you own a domain it doesn't mean that you own a web site.

For the next step, go to the next question, I just registered the name for my web site, what do I do now?

Now you that you have a domain name, the next step is to find a place to host your web site. There are a couple of ways you can go about this; One way is to buy your own web server, or the other is to find a company that offers web site hosting services. The latter is the best route to take, more so if you are a small business. There are quiet of few over-heads that you have to contend with:

1. You need enough bandwidth to handle the traffic.
2. In a perfect world servers would run without problems.. since it's not, you are going to need someone to maintain and setup the server.
3. Security..

There are others to list, but just these 3 issues are more costly than any small business can afford financially and/or the payroll.

The Last Step.

You have a domain and a place to host the site, all that is left is the web site. This step probably takes the most thought and caution. By this I mean, this is were you and/or your business is expressed to the world. You need to decide what site is best for your needs, what you want to offer your viewers.
